Where things are stored
Settings live in the plugin’s data.json. Your Knowii session (the sign-in cookies) does not: it is kept in Obsidian’s secret storage, on each device and for each vault, and data.json only holds the secret’s name (knowii-community-session). Older versions kept the session in data.json; each device moves that copy to its own secret storage at its next start, and the copy is removed from data.json 60 days after the first device did, or right away with Remove plain-text copy now. With Share session with my other devices on, data.json keeps an up-to-date copy on purpose (in plain text: keep the file private) and it is never removed automatically.
The page you were on, whether you have seen the welcome card, which items you have already been notified about, what you marked as read or archived, and the recent activity found by watching the whole community are stored per device, in Obsidian’s local storage, so they never travel with your vault.
